  • All Filler, No Killer and Gig #45

My blog will be 3 years old in a couple of weeks. Wow.
I’m surprised I’ve kept at it for this long, even though the quality and frequency of my posts have been dropping recently, and I’ve been blaming it all on having no time to write anything.

Well I suffered another pitfall about a month ago when I deleted all my saved messages on my phone. I think I was high and pressed the wrong buttons on my phone. I was kinda upset over it. I lost a shit load of random lyrics I thought of, and topics to blog about. But a few days later I decided to be positive about it. Maybe this deletion gives me the chance to write even more and better stuff than before! And so I haven’t looked back on it since.

Last week, I was at Raelene’s blog (yes call me a stalker, or whatever you like, I don’t care- it’s not wrong to read an ex’s blog once in awhile) and she had an update saying she finally had her one way ticket out of this country and she was packing. I looked at the date, I was reading the post more than a week late. It was pretty late by then so I didn’t call her up, I decided to send her a message the next day. It wouldn’t get through. I asked Sam about it and she told me that Raelene should have already left.

I don’t know why, but I spent the whole day moping. I never got the chance to say goodbye for the last time. While she was still around. Why didn’t I pick up the phone to call her earlier? There were so many things I would have liked to say, and now I’ll never get the chance. The next time I do bump into her I would have probably forgotten it all and it wouldn’t mean anything then. Oh well.

    I digress.

Anyway, at work my boss has been encouraging us to write our goals down, share them with people and talk about them. Because the more you talk about your goals, you’ll get more people to know what they are and those people (who care) will ask you about your goals all the time. They’ll keep bugging you about them, which is some sort of crude motivation method. I.e. if you say you plan to lose weight, people will ask you ‘oh so how much weight have you lost?’ ‘you don’t look like you’ve lost weight! have you?’ etc. (and no, losing weight isn’t one of my goals haha)

So there are some goals I can share with the world, and you’re reading one of them- blorgy.net is going to be revamped. I’ll still keep my old blog posts around, archived in another folder, but the main content of my blog won’t be my writings anymore. I’m going to turn it into a comic blog. I’ve decided that instead of focusing on just writing text (I already do enough of that at work and in song writing) I will be writing and drawing my own comics. Haven’t really got a fixed idea of what my comics will be about, but they shall stay in key with the usual stuff I write about, cos it’s what people like reading anyway (all 100 of you daily lol). The art’s not going to be fantastic (yet) so it’ll be a way for me to improve my drawing as well. When this blog is 7 years old, people will look back at my first comic post and go ‘wow, this guy has come a long way’. I already have a few comics done in my notebook and I’m currently working on the model sheets for the characters (which is a pain in the ass to do). I plan to finish my site revamp sometime in April (hopefully in time to coincide with my blog’s anniversary date, what better present could one ask for?) So stay tuned! Keep pestering about it if you see me so I’ll have no choice but to work on it!

And if this works, I’ll definitely be announcing more goals from now on haha.

I finally completed the vocals for my EP this month! Wow, it’s been almost a year since I started. Boy I am glad it’s over. Now it’s onto the mixing stage. Hopefully I can get a good mix done by the end of March. All fingers crossed, I hope my mixer/producer/engineer can make me sound like magic. Haha. I’ll be heading into the studio sometime next month to give my input as well. I will need to work on the CD insert/cover as well. But that will be after the new blog is done since I already have an idea of what I will be doing, it’s just a matter of putting it all together.

And lastly, I will be playing a gig this Friday on the 26th of March at SEGi College for their International night.
It’s RM40 a ticket, and it starts at 6.30pm. There will be food, drinks and entertainment. You’re supposed to dress up, come over and have a good time. The theme is Mardi Gras after all.
Check out the FB page for more info.
