I think a lot about random things and one of the things that came to my mind awhile ago was – who designs the CD covers for pirated CDs? I really don’t understand what goes through their thought processes when coming up with a design for a CD.
There’s plenty of ways to get your hands on official CD cover art on the internet, but we end up with shit that looks like this:

Sure, we still have the more decent ones that look like these:

But most of them aren’t that subtle.
Large text in Impact (or a wrong font) in primary colors? Check.
Tons of ‘awards’ and certified logos? Check.
Different colors not found on the original covers? Check.
I mean come on – you’re already going to get into trouble for these pirated CDs, at least put some pride into making them look legit. It’s not like you’re going to get into more trouble!
And if you’re capable of cracking, burning and distributing pirated software, I’m pretty sure you’re skilled enough to Google for CD cover art. It’s really not that hard.
Now I don’t claim to be an expert on design or Photoshop, but I’m pretty sure I can do a better job in 5 minutes on the computer. Using MS Paint. Step it up guys! You gotta work harder on making your portfolio look good.
