  • Politics Schmolitics

People say that I’m stupid not to vote. Or that I’m irresponsible and that people like me are the reason why our country is in such a sad state.

Then I started to think about it. Let’s say the battle is won/lost (depending on whether you support the government or not) by one vote. One vote. Technically it could have been my vote- but because I didn’t cast it, wait let me rephrase- exercise my rights because I live in a democratic country, one party lost/won. But then I thought some more- in a country that divided we’re pretty much fucked anyway. Nobody’s gonna make all their promises come true, and even if they do, it won’t necessarily make Malaysia a better country.

What if BN has been winning just because people believe in them? And that all the scandals and rumors you hear about were just stirred up by the opposition? Well until someone implements a voting system where you have to reveal to everybody who you’re voting for, nobody will truly know if the numbers have been tampered with or not.

Oops, strayed off topic there. Back to where I was- not voting. I’m not a fan of politics (makes me sound ignorant, I know) and don’t bother keeping up with any of that bullshit. Because I’m not blaming the current government for how our country is now, rather I would like to blame our ancestors. The ones who decided that ‘oh shit! Malaysia should be its own fucking country!’, ‘Yeah! Let’s get rid of the British!’, ‘I don’t think it’s a good idea, but we’ll have a country to call our own!’ and called for independence. Seriously.

What was so bad about being under British rule? Were they treating us badly? Were we slaves? Were they giving us a hard time? No, I don’t think so! I wasn’t alive back then, I wouldn’t know. But I’m pretty sure if they stayed on, we’d be a hell lot better than this sorry excuse of a country we have. The only thing good about being third world is that everything here is cheaper. And we have a lot of greenery (undeveloped areas lol).

But really, imagine if they didn’t set us free. Maybe we’d trading in Euros or Pounds. Maybe our government wouldn’t be so corrupt. Maybe we might have more cultured people. Maybe we wouldn’t have mat rempits. Maybe we would be buying Les Paul guitars real cheap. Maybe awesome bands would come down here. Maybe we might even be on the map.

The only things I ever hear people praise Malaysia about- the good food, the cheap (pirated) goods, and the nightlife. I guess all that makes Malaysia such a great country.

“The Federation of Malaya achieved independence from the United Kingdom on August 31, 1957.” Maybe the biggest mistake we ever made.

  • CJ7

WARNING- this post contains some spoilers

So I just came back from the cinema an hour ago. I watched CJ7- Stephen Chow’s latest film. Halfway through the film when Dicky’s father dies, and they showed the scene in the hospital. Something hit me- the initials CJ stood for Christ Jesus! (okay if you are offended, you can close this page now)
By the end of the movie, it was pretty clear that CJ7 was a metaphor for JC-

He came to Earth by extraordinary means. So did the little alien.
He healed people. CJ7 fixed broken things, made rotten apples fresh.
He raised the dead. CJ7 raised the dead.
    He died. CJ7 died.

You start to see the similarities? Anyways, the main thing was that they brought hope and love to people. And by the end of the movie, CJ7 was like practically worshiped by the little kid. The alien gave him so much hope. Maybe Stephen Chow is a Christian and is trying to spread the love of God through his movies.

Oh both CJ7 and Jesus had awesome facial hair. And the number 7 at the end of his name is such a give away! Why use a divine number if CJ wasn’t divine?

And Kitty Zhang is teh hawtness.

  • Complaintor.

When I had a girlfriend, all I seemed to complain about was about my girlfriend and work. Now that I don’t have a girlfriend anymore, all I ever complain about is work. Do people ever complain about studies? Nah, it’s not something you can really complain about. I mean people expect studying to be a pain in the ass, what else is there to complain about? Life?

But really, what is there to complain about life? I mean seriously, how bad can life be?
Maybe if you go out of the house one day, and you lose an arm to a freak accident. You come back home, you find cops are all over the place cos your dad is a terrorist and the car that he bought for you 18th birthday was actually going to be used in a car bombing attempt. Then you find out your mom is really an undercover cop and your real mom is actually a transvestite in India locked up for trying to bribe a judge. I guess that would be a pretty fucked up day. Though it would make a truly interesting book/movie.

Life gives you all sorts of choices. Each day you wake up, its like God rolled the dice for the day and your options get played out by you. Somedays you’re gonna roll 12 sixes in a row. Or maybe multiple ones. Whatever- it’s all random right? Then you get your challenges, and you decide how to solve them. Take the easy way? The long way? Sometimes you fail, sometimes you succeed.

Your life story is like some adventure book.
Turn to page 53 if you chose to touch that little boy in his pants….
..You get noticed by a passerby who calls the cops. The cops arrive and catch you in the act. Turn to page 140 if you choose to run, page 300 if you surrender yourself. Page 450 if you hold the kid hostage..

Life is full of twists. I guess that’s what keeps us going. We’re always looking for our ‘next big break’ or ‘light at the end of the tunnel’. Or whatever metaphor you want to use to describe the hope that is almost there. Just barely out of reach. ‘A little bit more’, we would say.

Nobody is truly happy. If they were, they wouldn’t be complaining..I heard someone say something along the lines of ‘the only people who don’t complain are the ones who are dead.’ I believe so.
