I’m not sure if that’s the right thing to say, but it’s something that I’ve noticed from all my years spent alive (kek). What I’ve realized is that when you have nothing to do, that’s when boredom sets in. And when that happens, you look for something to do to get rid of that feeling.
Have you ever received messages from people saying, “I’m bored man! What to do?”? I’m always thinking to myself, “There’s so much to do, so much to see, so what’s wrong with taking the back street?” wait – no I don’t think that. But I do think that there’s so much to do and not enough time to do it all.
Life, for me, is a constant struggle to try to cram everything I want to do while finding the time to do the things I need to do as well. Maybe I’m just the kind of guy who likes to do many things but because of that I never feel bored.
Whether I’m home or out, I always have something to do. I don’t know if I consciously choose to be so busy or life just turned out that way, but that’s how my life is and I love it that way.
Be it writing at a cafe, playing games on my PC, watching movies in bed, playing the guitar on stage, or Redditing while taking a shit – there’s a hundred other things I love doing and look forward to doing. And that’s all in between the work and errands I have to complete (not to mention the meals and toilet breaks I have to take throughout the day, and sleep I need to catch).
As for those people who get bored, I ask you this – why?
There’s an infinite amount of things you can do with your time – I’m not telling you to do anything, just spend it doing something! If you want to sleep, go ahead! As long as you do something and feel that it isn’t a waste of time, it’s probably a good use of your time. I mean, I spend tons of hours unproductive by playing games, but it’s better than moping around and feeling bored.
I don’t think I’m the most interesting guy in the world, but if you’d rather mope about feeling bored in your free time, you’re probably a boring person. Go find something to do, I hear it’s quite fun!
