2storeytreat #7: Waiting Is The Hardest Way To Die

Most of you probably haven’t heard this relatively new song, some of you have, and you might be wondering what the hell I’m singing about haha. I don’t have a rough demo or recording yet, but in the meantime, here are the lyrics to the song:

Waiting Is The Hardest Way To Die

Seven more days ’til I find out
What you truly want from me
I can’t say I’m not worried
I can’t say that I am
But I don’t want to raise my hopes up
‘cos every single moment spent with you
Taught me a little more about myself

It’s not the answer I can’t take
It’s the waiting that’s the nightmare
Waiting that’s the nightmare

Pull the trigger on your own
Take my gun don’t let it go
’til you let me go
Don’t be selfish oh no no
Make up your mind and let me know
Don’t leave me hanging

We take our time, we hurry up
We slow things down, we speed things up
We lose our hearts, we make mistakes
We take our time, we hurry up
We slow things down, we speed things up
We lose our heads, we raise the stakes

Pacing up and down your room, wondering what you’re thinking of

Is it me inside your head?

Pacing up and down your room, wondering what you’re thinking of

Do you miss me at all?

You exist in, or you exit from
You exist in, or you exit from my life

Basically this song was written when I was waiting for Jasmine’s answer, a few months ago. We weren’t a couple yet, and before we got together, she asked for a week apart to think about things. I wasn’t particularly happy with that because I didn’t know what her decision would be, I got upset, started penning down words to a song and this was the result. As for the music, I’ve had the guitar parts down for a very long time, but no words to put to it. I tried singing these lyrics to it, they fit, and the rest is history.
