An unexpected win. Gig #35

A bag full of Loreal goodies and a polo T-shirt sits next to me, undeservedly. A prize I got for making it through the first heats of Library’s Got Talent. Yes, I made it through. But it wasn’t a walk in the park.

It was a real wake up call. Even I found it hard to believe that there were people out there who thought AMDW was boring. Yeah, I know I’ve only played it to a handful of people, but I’ve received nothing but praise for that song, and today was the first time ever I’ve been burnt for it. I guess there’s a first time for everything. I’m not saying I wrote the best song in the world, but it’s one of the stronger songs I’ve written. Time to improve.

After the 3 Xs, I was ready to go home without any consolation. But I’m so glad I got a second chance at this competition. Thanks to everybody who came to support me. Without you guys, tonight would have been the total failure I thought it would be. I’ll try harder for the quarter finals. See you guys in December!

Oh, and tomorrow night (if work permits) I’ll be playing at the open mic in Groove Junction which starts at 9pm. Come and enjoy the show! This time I guarantee there won’t be any Xs to throw me off the stage 😛
